Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 8, 2026
This website provides general information about requesting court transcripts in New York City. We keep this policy intentionally short and clear.
Information We Collect
When you use our transcript request wizard and choose to receive your documents via email, we collect:
- Email address: Required to send you your personalized transcript request documents.
- Court selection: Which court type and borough you selected (e.g., "Family Court, Kings County"). This helps us understand which courts are most commonly requested.
- Communication preferences: Whether you opted in to receive occasional updates about transcript services and resources.
- Limited request summary: The court, borough, request types, and a small set of non-personal wizard choices needed to regenerate your packet later.
What we do NOT collect or store: We do NOT store the personal details you enter in the wizard, such as your name, phone number, case name, docket number, or hearing dates. This information is used only to generate your documents in your browser and is not transmitted to our servers.
Information You Enter in the Wizard
The request wizard runs primarily in your browser. When you enter case information (names, docket numbers, dates, etc.), this data is:
- Used locally to generate your request packet
- Temporarily stored in your browser's session storage for convenience
- Never sent to our servers or stored in our database
You can clear this information at any time by clicking "Start Over" in the wizard or clearing your browser data.
How We Use Your Information
Your email address is used to:
- Send you a secure link to download your transcript request documents
- If you opted in: Send occasional updates about transcript services, helpful resources, and site improvements (no more than once per month)
We will never:
- Sell your email address to third parties
- Share your email with transcription vendors or courts
- Send spam or unrelated marketing messages
Data Retention
We retain your email address and download records for up to 2 years. This allows you to:
- Access your documents again if needed
